The KONG Frisbee is an awesome dog toy for you and your Doberman. A favorite game for my puppy was to make him sit and wait until I had thrown the KONG Frisbee. Once it was a good distance away I’d give the command to fetch and he would take off after it. Once retrieved he would return it to my feet, circle round behind me and sit at my side eagerly waiting for me to throw it again.
Once your Doberman is used to the idea of returning thrown items try getting him to catch your the Frisbee.
Throw your KONG Frisbee low and straight so it is easier for him to catch it and he won’t have to jump so high. The impact of the landing isn’t very good for puppy bones and muscles. Try to get your Dobie to circle around you before you throw the frisbee so he builds up speed, then throw the frisbee when he is next to you or a little ahead.
To get him to catch better you can have him in front of you and just throw the frisbee at him. It takes a little practice but he will soon get the idea.
The KONG Frisbee adds another dimension to the usual game of fetch that smart dogs like Dobermans soon tire of. Noticed how your Doberman will only return a ball so many times? The KONG Frisbee mixes it up and keeps your Doberman and you exercising longer.
No safe dog toy is totally ‘Doberman Proof’ and those teeth will eventually go through anything, however the KONG Frisbee is pretty tough and more durable than any other frisbee I’ve tried. It flies well for a rubber frisbee and in red, it’s easy to find in long grass. A bonus – once you’re done playing you can flip it upside down and fill with water or treats for and instant on-the-go feed bowl.
